Fort Lauderdale Charters

Anglers come from all corners of the world to experience Fort Lauderdale sport fishing. There are three major migrations of fish in a year in South Florida, including the Fort Lauderdale region. The first migration starts with Sailfish in the months of December through April. The second migration is in the months of May through July where we have a great Shark run and the third and last migration is in the summer months with Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo fishing.

Also keep in mind there are plenty of other fish that are targeted in South Florida and Fort Lauderdale throughout the year such as Cobia, Black Fin Tuna, King Mackerel, Bonito, Barracuda and Swordfish. The game fish off of Fort Lauderdale are some of the most sought after fish in the world.

We are fortunate to have very deep waters off of Fort Lauderdale - within 2 miles off shore, we are fishing in 200 ft of water. If you venture off another 1/4 of a mile, you will find yourself in 500 ft. of water due to our extreme drop off. The Greater Fort Lauderdale area is known as "The Wreck Capital of the world" with over 100 shipwrecks on 23 miles of reefs in 30 to 300 feet of water - making this area an angler's paradise.

There are numerous techniques used for fishing in Fort Lauderdale depending on many variables. For example, with a 10 to 15 mph wind out of an Easterly direction, we can try kite fishing - a technique involving a kite from which hangs a fishing line attached to live bait. The kite is flown out over the surface of a body of water and the bait splashes on the surface until attacked by a predator. The intention of the kite is to present our bait fish to the predator fish in its most natural form (as a school of bait), which is extremely effective.

Another method used for Ft Lauderdale deep sea fishing is trolling, where multiple fishing lines are drawn through the water baited with dead or live bait. We also do Fort Lauderdale wreck fishing and take advantage of the area's coastal waters which have a great system of wrecks. Some of the wrecks are located in 30' of water and others are located in 300+' of water where we may use electric reels to fish that deep.

Fort Lauderdale Charter Boat

Fort Lauderdale charter boat "Happy Day Today" is a 46' customized Hatteras with twin Detroit Diesel power cruising at 18 knots. On your charter, we are able to run offshore to deep waters to target the species of fish the angler desires to make sure your Fort Lauderdale fishing charter is a successful and fun experience.

The boat has a fully air conditioned salon which is essential during warm days, along with a Lowrance depth recorder, life jackets, coolers, ice, refrigerator and freezer. Trolling bait is included in the charter as well as a fishing license for all anglers. The boat has two large, comfortable, leather couches where you can sit and relax and watch TV or listen to the stereo, or you can stay outside in the cockpit where the action takes place. If you wish, all edible fish will be iced down and filet for you at the dock.

Both Captains Tom and David Zsak have been so successful with Ft. Lauderdale fishing because of their experience in finding fish for every charter. They will first ask the angler what type of fishing charter they desire, whether it is fish you can eat or sport fish. Then depending on the local fishing conditions (wind, current, and bait), we target that species.

Our sportfishing charter boat and team has earned the reputation as being one of the top 10 charter boats in the State of Florida due to our many years of experience, holders of 34 local records in Fort Lauderdale and numerous satisfied customers, as seen on TripAdvisor showing a 5 Star Rating. Our goal is to provide you with a fishing charter that is fun and filled with exciting sounds of the line screaming off the reel and the rod bent over with the yell of "Fish On."
