Fort Lauderdale fishing charter boat

Offshore fishing group chartered the with our prime Fort Lauderdale boats Top Shot Sportfishing charter boat team for a private deep sea charter boat sport fishing trip in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As they boarded the boat they were greeted by Captain Zsak, who asked them what type of fishing they wanted to do.
Their reply was any type of fishing they just wanted to have a good time, enjoy the day and have fun catching fish. So we knew we had a game plan to attack the day.
Shortly after leaving the dock, lines were in 150 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. If you venture off another of a mile, you would find yourself in 500 to 600 ft. of water, which we exclusively have here in Fort Lauderdale, due to Fort Lauderdale’s extreme drop off. The further north you go, the further the drop off swings offshore.

We started the charter trolling with four surface lures and two deep planner lines in 100 ft. of water. I trolled up along the reef line over wrecks and rock structures when we started getting bites on the deep planner line.
The first bite we got was a Kingfish, and Vicki was the angler. She reeled in the fish, and the first mate, Dave, wired in the remaining long leader and we fish these leaders anywhere from 75 to 90 feet depending on the speed and the depth of water we are fishing.
Since I started to mark fish and schools of bait on the depth recorder, I remained in the area working over the mark. We hooked another Kingfish, and Bob reeled this one in with the first mate wiring the leader in. In total we captured four nice Kingfish.

We continued trolling the reef over a sunken shipwreck. The next bite we got was a big one. The rod bent over very hard, and the drag started ripping out. Both Bob and Vicki reeled on this one, but in the end, Bob finished it off. This fish was a giant 52″ long Saber Tooth Tiger (Barracuda) with a huge head and teeth.
We had about an hour left in the charter so we tried kite fishing. I put out two kites with three live baits and one dead bait. We drifted with the current over more structures, but no luck.
It was now time to head back to the dock and they had a great time fishing with us. The happy anglers retired into the a/c salon watching the plasma TV and enjoying the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
