South Florida is a melting pot of all parts of the world. For those who have never been to Florida and even for Florida born natives, there is always something to do, new sights, landmarks to see and places to explore. Fishing in Fort Lauderdale is known for its year round fishing friendly weather. It is also known for its wide variety of local cuisine from all corners of the world, both its day and night life as well as local attractions. South Florida' climate is tropical and visited year round by people of all ages from all over the world.

The average temperature in Fort Lauderdale is warm year round. Our ocean breeze cools down the coastal areas to make for a comfortable experience whether fishing in Fort Lauderdale, dining at a restaurant or enjoying one of the local attractions. From the months of November through May, the average temperature is between the mid 70’s to 80 degrees. The night time lows are about 70 to high 60 degrees. During the months of May through October, you will experience daytime highs between mid 80’s to the low 90 degree mark. The night time lows are around the high 70’s to mid 80’s.

When it comes to the rainy season in Fort Lauderdale, do not be too concerned about rain fall here. Yes we do have rain fall, however it typically rains in short duration. And as the saying goes “If it is raining, wait 20 minutes and there will be clear skies”. Our rainy season begins in May and runs through September. When you think of rainy season, one might be led to believe that it is raining all day long. This is certainly not the case at all, in fact the average rain fall inland and even when offshore fishing in Fort Lauderdale, the rain lasts for a couple hours typically between 2pm and 5pm.

The average rain fall is about +/- two inches. The humidity factor is high especially in August & September. Fishing in Fort Lauderdale is nice because when you are offshore, there is an ocean breeze to lower the overall temperature. During months of November through April, there is less rain and humidity and this is the preferred time of the year to be fishing in Fort Lauderdale. Not to worry about warm clothing, no snow in here.

In addition to fishing in Fort Lauderdale we have many fun attractions during the day as well as night. One of the largest attractions is the beaches. There has been a $26 million renovation of the Fort Lauderdale beaches. The renovation included extra driving lanes, bicycle lanes, more traffic signals, and crosswalks as well as the most noticeable which is construction of beach wave wall that has a neon light running along the stretch of beach. There is an array of shops, entertainment venues, restaurants and numerous festivals and events. In addition to fishing in Fort Lauderdale, we also have jet skis, scuba diving, wind surfing and boating off our beaches year round.

Fishing in Fort Lauderdale is a great way to spend a day on the water, as well as enjoy a river cruise aboard the Carrie B or the Jungle Queen. Another day time activity includes golfing on one of the many public courses in Broward County. Or if you are looking to spend the day shopping, you can do so at one of the numerous malls we have such as the Galleria Mall, Sawgrass Mills Mall, Coral Square and Boca Town Malls. Some other fun attractions you will find while visiting Fort Lauderdale are the Bonnet House Museum, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, Everglades Holiday Park, Riverwalk and the Stranahan House. For those who may have children or even still enjoy letting your inner child have fun, another great place to visit is the Museum of Discovery and Science.
