 The Sailfish bite has been good through out the year, we have had one of the best bites and largest migration of Sailfish that most captains havent seen in many years. The Sails have been coming in droves, catching double and triple headers. The very best months are Jan, Feb and March. As the summer approaches, we are still catching Sailfish off Fort Lauderdale, just not as many in season. Here was last weeks Sail, we fought the fish for over 45 minutes, after a long fight the fish came up dead and we ended up having the meat smoked. Sailfish are not good eating on the grill, only for Smoked Sailfish dip. This customer ended up having half the fish shipped to his home is Maryland. Typiclly we let Sails go, however sometimes they come up dead and instead of putting back dead, we smoke the meat.
