Larry from Denver, Co, his daughter Kate and his son in law Nick chartered us for an afternoon charter from 1pm to 5pm.
The conditions were partly cloudy, seas were 2 to 3’ and there was a slight South current.
We started out fishing in 100’ of water and out to 200’ of water. Within the first 10 minutes of fishing, we had a nice 25 pound King fish on. We continued to catch King Mackerel and Bonito for the next hour and half. After a nice catch of 4 Bonito and 2 King Mackerel, we decided to target a larger fish.
After discussing our options, we decided to try shark fishing. We headed to the mouth of the inlet and set out our shark spread. One surface, one mid and one bottom bait.
The shark bite came about just over an hour into the charter and Nick was the angler. He did a great job and we landed the shark. After some photos and taking the hook out of the fishes mouth, we released the 70” shark to live another day.
Thanks again to Larry, Kate and Nick, we had a good time.
