The Sailfish are here and the bite is good. The best bite has been has been anywhere between 125' to 155' of water in the strip of reef along Ft. Lauderdale. There are scattered wrecks, reef structure, bait which all help the bite turn on. We use kites which allow us to keep the baits suspended just below the surface (2' to 3') and when the sailfish looks up, she sees a pattern of 4 or 5 baits which mirrors a school of baitfish off Ft. Lauderdale.
When the fish is on, grab the rod and the fight begins. You have the option to either stand (with a rod belt) and or sit inthe fighting chair and battle the sailfish.
When fishing in the depths of 145' of water, we also have the opportunity to catch Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, King Mackerel and Bonito. Also we like to put a bottom bait down. Typically when charter fishing in Ft. Lauderdale, we like to have a bait on the bottom because of the amount of Snapper and Grouper that we have the opportunity to also catch. Why miss an opportunity.
