Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Larry Wagner from Texas along with friend, Tiffany, chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Winds were out of the east at 5 mph with 1-2 ft. seas.
We stopped on our way out to pick up a dozen live Goggle Eyes from T&T Bait since Larry was interested in catching a Sailfish or Grouper on this trip. I was hoping our winds would pick up to fly the kite later on in the trip.
As we got to the sea buoy, the current was flying at 4.2 knots, extremely fast to do any wreck fishing, but I still wanted to give it a shot so we put out a live Goggle Eye by one of the wrecks sitting in 210 ft. of water. We got a bite but we pulled the hook on him. From there we put out the live Goggle Eyes from the riggers, but we had no luck, so we went back to trolling. We caught a total of five Kingfish, four Bonitos and one Mahi Mahi. Larry will have to wait and come back for our Sailfish migration in the fall.
The anglers retired into the a/c salon aboard the Happy Day Today for the trip back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
