Fishing Report Fort Lauderdale Fl.
Fishing report for Top Shot Sportfishing Team and crew located out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Waren family father mother and son, from Washington D.C. went out for a charter looking to catch edible fish. Namely wanting to target Mahi Mahi and Wahoo.
We headed offshore in search of the Mahi Mahi, Black Fin Tuna and Wahoo. Started with lines in the water in 300' of water which is about 3 miles offshore and continued trolling offshore till about 8 miles offshore which was about 800' of water. For the first two hours of the charter we had not a single bite,no Mahi, Tuna or Wahoo's. Then we found some birds working and got three tuna. At that point, we suggested to change plans as the offshore fishing was very slow. We suggested targeting Golden Tile fish. Both father and son agreed to try another method in hopes to get good quality edible fish and off we went headed to one of our most productive Golden Tile spots in 650 feet. Using a multiple hook rig, two pound weight, squid and ballyhoo for bait, we sent the gear down. Soon as we hit the bottom, fish on. The first Golden we got was a nice fish. We continued to make drops and catching fish to make the charter a lucky second half. Every other drop we caught a fish and ended up with three Goldens to finish the trip. The anglers retired into the a/c salon for the trip back to the Bahia Mar Dock, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
