Steve Sassone and Mr. Sauro originally from New York now living in South Florida chartered the Happy Day Today for a half day trip with their daughters. Before leaving the dock, the weather was cloudy with scattered rain. As the morning started out fishing in 120' of water, Alessanda, Alexandra and Daniele and their fathers were in the bite. By 11am, they had caught 10 Bonito. All of which were decent size Bonito. The 11th Bonito of the day was bitten in half from what the teeth marks show a large Barracuda. A Barracuda big enough to eat a 15 pound Bonito was probably a 36" to 39" or larger fish. With only an hour left in the charter, Steve was looking to catch a shark. So heading out to 350' of water and putting 3 baits out, one on the bottom, one in the middle and one on the surface, the waiting/ hunting began. After one hour and 20+ minutes of shark fishing, one of the three rods bent over and the line came screaming off, Mr. Sassone got in the chair and begand to fight the fish. Then the second of three rods bent over and Mr. Sauro began fighting that shark "DOUBLE HEADDER"!! Turns out both sharks were Hammerheads and both were caught. Great job as anglers and well done. The hooks were removed within safety and the sharks swam away to be caught another day. About that time it was ready to wrap up the trip and head back to the dock.
