Captain's
History:
The Happy Day Today is the longest running charter boat in Ft. Lauderdale and
holds of 34 local records. The boat's captians, Rick Brady and Tom Zsak,
teamed up in 1975 to establish the business. Since then, the two captains have
gained the reputation as the Best in the Business. Not only
have the captains fished out of Ft. Lauderdale for 30 years, but also the entire
world, including St. Thomas, the Bahamas, Venezuela, Mexico, Coasta Rica, Mauritius
and Australia. The combined
fishing experience in Florida and around the world give Brady and Zsak the awesome
fishing knowledge needed to produce fish in Ft. Lauderdale. The
Boat: A fully customized 46 Hatteras. Engines are Detroit Desiel
with 465 horse power each. The cockpit is where all the action takes place with
five chairs to seat our customers, as well as plenty of rod holders. The boat
is fully air conditioned, including TV, radio, refrigerator, and ice maker.
Preparing
for the Trip: Arrive approximatly 15 minutes prior to your departure
to allow the crew to get aquainted with everyone and figure out what species to
target. Once on our way, the mate will go over the proper fishing techniques to
be used. Dont worry, no experience is needed. Travel Time
to Fishing Grounds:
We are extremely luck here in South Florida to have deep water in close proximity
to the beach. The average depth drops off 100 feet of water every mile traveled
off land. It is a beautiful thing when we are fishing within 30 minutes of leaving
the dock. Weather Conditions: South Florida climate is warm
year round. Temperatures range from 70 degrees to 90 degrees, and the average
wind speed is 10-15mph. Frequent cloud cover makes it pleasant while fishing,
and an occasional shower will cool off the air. The average sea conditions are
1 to 3 foot seas. Maximum Allowance of People: The
maximum allowance of people in a boat is 6. If there will be more than 6 people
in the party, the Happy Day Today will be more that happy to arrange a fleet for
your group. |
